- The share waiting more than 8 weeks — Wales's standard is that no patient should wait longer than 8 weeks for a diagnostic test
Caveats
- Wales runs its NHS separately from England and Scotland, and its diagnostic standard (no patient over 8 weeks) is a different basis from England's DM01 (under 1% over 6 weeks) and Scotland's diagnostic standard (no patient over 6 weeks), so these figures are NOT comparable across nations and are never ranked together.
- Reported per health board, not per hospital — Wales does not publish this dataset at hospital level.
- Powys has no acute diagnostic facilities of its own and does not appear in this dataset — a real gap in provision, not missing data.
- The over-8-week figure sums every published waiting-time band with a lower bound of 8 weeks or more, including the 'Forty weeks and over' top band.
