What we show
- The share of respondents who rated their care 'good' or 'very good' when asked how likely they are to recommend it to friends and family
- The number of responses received
- The response rate (responses as a share of the number of patients eligible to respond)
Caveats
- FFT is a voluntary feedback survey, not a representative survey — patients opt in to respond, so the results reflect who chose to give feedback, not everyone treated.
- Response rates are often low and vary a great deal between trusts and settings; a very high or low percentage from a handful of responses carries far less weight than the same figure from thousands.
- This is NOT an official NHS performance standard — there is no national target or pass mark, and we never treat it as a substitute for the clinical waiting-time and safety measures shown elsewhere on the page.
- Reported per trust — the same figures apply to every hospital the trust runs, always labelled 'Trust-wide'.
- Currently only the inpatient and A&E settings are shown; NHS England also collects FFT for maternity, outpatients and other settings we do not yet display.
- Only one month of data is currently loaded, so no trend is shown yet.
